Read Super Eagles star Ogenyi Onazi's exclusive interview with LIB
From his burst into the international scene as a 16 year old in the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi's climb to the top has known no bounds. From impressive performances with the Super Eagles at the Nations and World Cup to stellar outings with Italian top-flight club side SS Lazio, there is no stopping this Jos boy.
In this exclusive interview with Linda Ikeji's Blog, the star midfielder shed some light on the Super Eagles, his beautiful wife Sandra, contractual situation with Lazio and many more. Read after the cut.
LIB: How did you feel when you heard of Sunday Oliseh's resignation?
Onazi: I was really sad though, i said to myself not again!
LIB: Why were you sad, did you have a personal relationship with him?
Onazi: Not really, but the reason i was sad was because on several occasions when we have important qualifiers like this something always comes up. Either the coach is sacked or something happens ,then we start looking for solutions.
LIB: What was the general feeling among players when they heard of Oliseh's resignation?
Onazi: Well, everyone has their own opinion which i respect and i just listen. But the coach has his personal reasons of doing what he did and i respect his decision.
LIB: Tell us about your family and siblings
Onazi: This is personal, i do not want to talk about my family for some reasons.
LIB: How did your family react to your decision to play football professionally?
Onazi: Well as we all know parents always want their children to become lawyers and doctors and all that. My dad never wanted to hear football but at the long run he had to agree. I started playing for the National U-17 football team in 2009 and when my uncle told him his son will be among the 21 players to represent Nigeria he was really shocked because he didn't know my whereabouts as at the time.
As God may want it, he watched me play football for the first time when we played at the World Cup (U-17) ,then he changed his ideas about how and what his children should do.
LIB: How do we prepare against the Pharaoh's of Egypt in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers?
Onazi: Well we have a short time to prepare but we are all professionals . I believe in coach Samson Siasia's ability to prepare us within the short time to confront them and win. I am very confident we will win the game.
LIB: What was your best moment with the Super Eagles?
Onazi: When we won the Nations Cup.
LIB: Your worst moment?
Onazi: When we drew against South Africa and didn't qualify for the Nations Cup and also when i got injured at the World Cup.
LIB: Congrats on your marriage to Sandra.
Onazi: Lol Thanks. White wedding will be by June, by God's grace.
LIB: What attracted you to Sandra?
Onazi : Well she has been the one i knew i will get married to, since the first day i met her four years ago.
LIB: There have been allegations of players bribing their way into Super Eagles' teams of the past by offering cash incentives and gifts to the coach. Whats your take on this?
Onazi: Well i have never done that and if i heard before i have not seen it since i came to the Super Eagles. Before the Nations Cup, Coach Keshi watched me play and invited me on merit. Till now i have been doing all i can, doing my best for Lazio and the National team. I have no other job apart from football and i have no other passion asides football. I always make sure i give 110% in every game because i know people are passionate about the game.
LIB: With two years left of your contract with SS Lazio is your club planning on giving you a new deal?
Onazi: I have been here all my life, like 6 years. I would love to have another contract but i also want to move on and change environment, experience another football life else where.
LIB: Nigerians love you because of your work ethic when on the field of play. What makes you so passionate and energetic when playing for Nigeria?
Onazi: Well i bless God for his grace in my life to have such energy. Also whenever i play football i think of people that can't eat or will have a bad day if we play badly, so i try to do my best to make them happy because some people will feel hurt if i play badly.
When we won the Nations Cup, the welcoming at the airport made me cry and i made up my mind to give my best whenever i play for my country.
The National Team is no man's house or village, so now that we have the opportunity to represent our country i do my best to even break records more than others who have served the country in the past.
LIB: Any last words for Nigerians?
Onazi: We love their passion for the Super Eagles and we will always do our best to put smiles on their faces as God gives us the grace to play for the country.

Problems in the bathroom may be related to problems in the bedroom for many men, as they get older they may develop urinary tract problems caused by an enlarged prostate, such as getting up many times during the night to urinate, may be associated with erectile dysfunction and other problems relating to sex in older men.
The prostate is a small, muscular gland in the male reproductive system. Your prostate surrounds your urethra and produces most of the fluid in your semen. The muscular action of the prostate helps propel the fluid and semen through your penis during sexual climax. Benign prostatic hypertrophy, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), occurs when the cells of the prostate gland begin to multiply. These additional cells cause your prostate gland to swell, which squeezes the urethra and limits the flow of urine. Obstruction may be so severe that no urine can leave the bladder at all. Indicators of sexual function are inversely related to the severity of urinary tract symptoms. As the men's urinary symptoms increase, the level of sexual function decreased which will lead to an erectile dysfunction.
Erectile Dysfunction can be defined as the inability to achieve and/or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity. Urinary tract symptoms resulting from an enlarged prostate that are most strongly associated with erectile dysfunction are:
· A feeling of urgency
· Getting up several times at night to urinate
· A weak urine stream
· Difficulty in urinating

North Korea Threatens US And Seoul
North Korea has warned that it will launch nuclear strikes on the US and South Korea.
The order for a “pre-emptive nuclear strike of justice” was made in a statement which was put out by Pyongyang, the Capital of North Korea.
Such rhetoric is not uncommon, and experts doubt the North’s ability to put nuclear warheads on its missiles.
The military exercises, involving more than 300,000 personnel, were annual events and always generate tension.
The BBC reported that North Korea sees the annual US-South Korean war games as a rehearsal for invasion.
The South’s Defence Ministry had warned Pyongyang against any “rash act that brings destruction upon itself.”
The latest exercises came just days after the UN passed new sanctions against North Korea following its recent nuclear test and rocket launch.
On Saturday, the Philippines impounded a North Korean cargo vessel under the toughened measures. A presidential spokesman said the crew would be deported and the ship subject to a UN-mandated inspection.
The North responded to the sanctions by saying it was readying nuclear weapons for “pre-emptive” use, and by firing short-range missiles into the sea.
Seoul is expected to announce more sanctions of its own on Tuesday, which is likely to draw another angry response from Pyongyang.
The US and South Korea on Friday, also began formal talks on the deployment of a US missile defence system to the peninsula, a move strongly opposed by North Korea, Russia and China.
Beijing said that the Thaad anti-missile system compromised its security and would undermine its nuclear deterrent.
Australian Navy Seizes Huge Weapons Cache Headed For Somalia
An Australian Navy ship has seized a huge cache of weapons near Oman’s coast from a fishing vessel bound for Somalia, the navy said on Monday, exposing a possible violation of a U.N. Security Council arms embargo.
The United Nations has a decade-long arms embargo in place against Somalia, which has been mired in conflict since civil war broke out in 1991.
The Australian Navy, which patrols waters around the Indian Ocean as part of an international maritime force, said it had seized nearly 2,000 AK-47 rifles, 100 rocket-propelled grenade launchers, 49 PKM machine guns, 39 PKM spare barrels and 20 mortar tubes from the fishing vessel.
“The weapons were seized under United Nations sanctions, which authorise interdiction on the high seas of illicit weapons destined for Somalia,” the Navy said in a statement.
In 2013, the U.N Security Council eased some of the embargo restrictions, allowing the Western-backed government in Mogadishu to buy light weapons to bolster its armed forces in the battle against Islamist al Shabaab insurgents, who are aligned with al Qaeda.
One Western security source said the street value of the Australian Navy haul appeared to be more than two million dollars.
The Australian Navy did not indicate who was the intended recipient of the weapons, which were found hidden under fishing nets. As well as al Shabaab, some regional states in Somalia operate and equip their own militias without the approval of the central government.
A Somali government spokesman could not immediately comment on the Australian Navy statement.
The Navy said personnel from HMAS Darwin had boarded the fishing vessel about 170 nautical miles (313 km) off the coast of Oman to verify which flag it was sailing under and they determined that it was stateless.
HMAS Darwin is in the region as part of the Combined Task Force 150, responsible for counter-terrorism operations, curbing piracy and drug smuggling.
Oil Workers Shut Down NNPC Operations Over Unbundling
Oil workers have shut down the operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) nationwide until further notice following the unbundling of the corporation.
This decision was reached at a meeting of the Group Executive Councils of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), which held on on Tuesday, March 8.
After “extensively discussing the pronouncement”, they “observed that the GMD/HMSP totally disregarded due process and failed to engage stakeholders.
“Hence, from midnight today (Tuesday, March 8), all NNPC locations will be shut down completely until further notice. Further directives will be communicated accordingly”.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Channels Television, President of NUPENG, Mr Igwe Achese, said the unbundling process was not transparent.
The Federal Government had approved the creation of seven operational units in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu said that five of the seven operational units would be strictly business-driven in line with global best practices.
The new units include those for Upstream, Downstream, Gas and Power, Refineries, Ventures, Corporate Planning and Services, and Finance and Accounts.
He said each of the units would be headed by Chief Executive Officers; namely Bello Rabiu for Upstream; Henry Ikem-Onih for Downstream; Anibor Kragha (Refineries); Saudu Mohammed (Gas and Power), while Babatunde Adeniran takes charge of Ventures.

Zuma Promises To Return Confiscated Funds To Nigeria
South African President, Jacob Zuma, says his government will do everything possible to ensure that the monies confiscated by South Africa during Goodluck Jonathan’s regime are returned to Nigeria.
Mr Zuma made the promise while addressing reporters after bilateral talks with President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
For over two hours President Buhari and the South African President discussed several issues aimed at deepening the relationship between the two countries.
They also reviewed the over 30 bilateral agreements the two countries had signed over the years.
President told the reporters that the Nigerian and South African governments were working on the matter and that the relevant structures were already recovering some of the loots.
Th South African leader also told reporters that investigations were ongoing to ensure that anything that was illegally taken to South Africa would be returned.
South Africa and Nigeria have good bilateral relations, and strong historical ties dating back from the years of the liberation struggle, but issues of xenophobia is threatening this relationship.
The South African President described xenophobic attacks recorded in his country as ‘unfortunate’, promising to address it ones and for all.
“Africans should realise that they are the same and should avoid conflicts and attacks on each other,” he stressed.
The Nigerian leader also addressed reporters, touching different issues.
On the fine imposed on a South African company in Nigeria, MTN, President Buhari says the Federal Government was worried about the security implication of incident and not the fine imposed.
According to the President, several lives could not have been lost if the MTN carried out the instructions by the regulatory body.
He, however, expressed joy that the South African company had agreed to pay the fine imposed on them.
President Buhari also emphasised the continent’s quest for a permanent seat in the UN Security Council, saying “Africa deserves a place in the Security Council seat of the United Nations”.
He also sympathisesd with South Africans on the unfortunate building collapsethat claimed some lives in Lagos and promised to do all to consolidate the relations between the two countries.
He is expected to address the National Assembly later on Tuesday.
Both leaders will also address the South Africa Business Forum before the end of the visit.
In President Zuma’s delegation are the Minister of Trades and Industry, Rob Davies, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister for Energy, Tina Joemat-Peterson, Minister of Home Affairs, Malusi Gigaba, Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and Minister of Mineral Resources, Mosebenzi Zwane.

We Are Proud Of Nigeria – Jacob Zuma
South African President, Jacob Zuma, on Tuesday hailed Nigeria’s role in helping the southern African country during its trying times.
Speaking during a joint session of the National Assembly, President Zuma said “Nigeria’s role in ending apartheid in South Africa must be told endlessly to future generations of our people.
“Nigeria provided solidarity to South Africans to unseat colonialist and we can’t forget Nigeria’s role in reparation for South Africa,” he said.
The South African President, who is on a two-day state visit to Nigeria, also applauded Nigeria’s conduct of the 2015 Presidential election, saying he salutes the courage of all those who were involved in making that election a smooth one for the country.
President Zuma also said that South Africa was willing to work with Nigeria in bringing about a steady power supply and also appealed to Nigeria to join hands with other African countries in defeating the enemy of the continent.
“Economic cooperation between Nigeria and South Africa must be enhanced to enable Africa develop at a fast pace.
“We must diversify our economies to provide more jobs for our people to break away from colonial strongholds.
“Economic cooperation between Nigeria & South Africa must be enhanced to enable Africa develop at a fast pace.
“We need to advance the continental integration and transformation informed by the African Union’s Constitutive Act.
“We need to unite and work together on the issues of peace and security.
“These should include the bringing into operation of the stand by force and their capability. We commit ourselves to playing our part to achieve this.
“Let the citizens of Africa march together to defeat all those forces that bring harm and suffering to our continent.
“Let the citizens of Africa match together towards a brighter future. A future filled with prosperity and happiness.
“South African and Nigeria acting together in unity must play a key role towards the achievements of these goals and objectives,” he said.
The Senate President and the Speaker in their speeches observed that there would be great consequences if both governments do not work together to ensure stability and growth of the continent.
Ease Travel Restrictions
The Chairman of Nigeria’s National Assembly, Senator Bukola Saraki, on his part asked the visiting South African President, Jacob Zuma, to consider easing travel restrictions for Nigerians and reducing challenges of doing business in his nation.
Senator Saraki pointed out that there was disparity in the opportunities investors from both countries enjoy, stressing that Nigerian wanted greater reciprocity.
The Nigerian Senate President also emphasised the need for greater African integration through the easing of trade restrictions, travel restrictions and better policy action towards intra-Africa investment and support.

FG employs Ocholi’s son, gives others Scholarship
The Federal government has offered automatic employment at the Federal Ministry of Justice to Aaron Ocholi, the only surviving son of James Ocholi, Minister of state for Labor and Employment, who died alongside his wife and son in a fatal accident along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Sunday March 6th. Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, disclosed this today when he visited the bereaved family.
Malami also disclosed that the late Ocholi's other children will enjoy scholarship programmes from the Federal Government. Aaron is a law graduate who was called to bar in October 2015.
Malami said
“I am here to convey Mr President’s condolence message and he has asked me to personally inform you that you have been given automatic employment in the Federal Ministry of Justice. The employment letter is in process and you can resume work after now. Your father was a very hardworking and conscientious member of the Federal Executive Council who was very passionate and worked hard for the realisation of the change agenda of this government. Indeed, it is a sad moment for all of us and the vacuum which his death has created is not only for the family, but the leadership as well. He was a great pillar in the struggle which brought this administration to power. He played a major role in the merger process,”.

Buhari unbundles NNPC into 7 units, names new heads
President Buhari has approved the immediate unbundling of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, into seven independent operational units. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, made this known today March 8th. According to Kachiukwu, the new units are Upstream, Downstream, Gas & Power, Refineries, Ventures, Corporate Planning & Services and Finance and Accounts.
He said each of the units would be headed by chief executive officers, namely Bello Rabiu for Upstream; Henry Ikem-Onih (downstream); Anibor Kragha (Refineries); Saudu Mohammed (Gas & Power), Babatunde Adeniran (Ventures), Isiaka Abdulrasaq Finance & Accounting and Isa Inuwa Executive Head, Corporate Planning and Services.
All appointments take immediate effect.

"The Lagos State Government on Tuesday said it would apply the relevant laws to ensure that more Lagosians voluntarily pay their taxes, just as it warned that tax evaders and defaulters would be prosecuted.
State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, who stated this during a press conference held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa Secretariat, said in view of the extreme financial downturn, there was the strong need for government to ramp up its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), stressing that the state would spare nothing in enforcing the laws regulating tax payment.
He said the administration of Governor Ambode had put in place necessary measures to end the era of tax evasion and indeed avoidance in the state, adding that tax avoiders and evaders would be aggressively pursued in line with the provisions of the law.
The Commissioner, who disclosed that the Ministry of Justice had established a Rapid Tax Prosecution Unit to aid the Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) in its drive to collect taxes, added that the unit would work closely with the Revenue Court which the Chief Judge of Lagos State recently agreed to set up.
He said: “Prosecution and jail term for defaulting tax payers will be a tool that we will be actively using to ensure full compliance. Tax officers, I understand, will be very aggressive in their collection of taxes and the public is hereby advised to cooperate with them because obstruction of these tax officers in their lawful duty can and will lead to prosecution.
“Tax dodgers watch out because the long arm of the law will eventually reach you. All tax payers are also reminded that giving false information is also an offence and can be used in the prosecution of your tax default. If you pay your taxes regularly, you will have no problem,” Kazeem said.
On his part, the State Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Mustapha Akinkunmi, said the state generated at least N24.5billion from IGR in the month of January 2016, in line with the efforts of the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration to reform its tax system and develop a tax paying culture.
Akinkunmi said in the light of the reduction of federal transfers to states including Lagos, the state government was looking inwards to secure sustainable ways of increasing its revenue profile and plugging leakages in the system.
He said majority of the state’s IGR is generated through tax collection, administered by the LIRS.
According to Akinkunmi, the LIRS contributed 79 per cent to the State’s IGR in 2015, which equates to 56 per cent of the State’s total revenue including Federal transfers, adding that the revenue is expected to continue on an upward swing, driven by strong tax collection.
He said, “This trend of strong performance is continuing. In January this year, LIRS has contributed N24.5billion in revenue, attaining 98 per cent budget performance for the month and recording 12 per cent growth from the same period in 2014.”
The Finance Commissioner attributed the improvement in the revenue generation of the state to voluntary tax compliance by tax paying members of the public despite the harsh economic terrain.
On his part, the LIRS Chairman, Mr. Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, said the agency had consistently been at the vanguard of ensuring reforms in the state to improve the ease of doing business in Lagos, adding that such reforms would aid voluntary tax compliance.
Ogunsanwo said that government was already working to bring more members of the informal sector into the tax net, saying that the Tax Returns Form had been reduced to two pages as against the six pages document hitherto in operation.
He also said that the agency, in an effort to bring efficient service delivery closer to the people, recently commissioned two new tax offices in Tejuosho and Sangotedo, adding that efforts was also being made to open additional two Tax Stations within Amuwo Odofin/Festac and Alimosho axis.
He thanked willful taxpayers and implored Lagosians to continue to pay their taxes as at when due, saying that in doing this, they empowered the state government to embark on infrastructural renewal and provision of dividends of democracy to the citizenry.
He said so far, the provision of the N4.8billion security equipment, provision of new ambulances, the N25billion Employment Trust Fund, the Light Up Lagos project, massive road construction, among others, had been provided through revenue generated from tax.

Police 'Justified' In Shooting Oregon Militant; DOJ Reviewing FBI Conduct

At a news conference Monday, authorities said Oregon State Police's fatal shooting of one of the occupiers of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, was "justified." But now the Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General is investigating possible misconduct by members of the FBI team involved in the operation.
At the news conference, authorities from two Oregon counties who led the local investigation into the shooting alleged that the FBI agents failed to disclose as many as two shots they fired at Finicum, NPR's Kirk Siegler reports. They confirmed that neither of those shots hit Finicum, but the revelation was enough to prompt the federal government to launch an internal review.
U.S. Department of Justice Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz issued the following statement:
The shots that killed Finicum were fired by the Oregon State Police, and the investigation into the shooting has found their use of force to be justified. The news conference also shed more light on the events immediately preceding Finicum's shooting. Oregon Public Broadcasting reports:
Law enforcement used a cellphone video shot by another militant, Shawna Cox — who was in Finicum's truck along with two others at the time of the confrontation — to piece together what happened after a number of the occupiers drove out of Malheur, law enforcement chased down their vehicles, and Finicum left his vehicle.
"You back down or you kill me now, go ahead, put the bullet through me," Finicum said in the video recording, which authorities showed at the press conference.
OPB reports that Finicum can also "be heard repeatedly ignoring commands from law enforcement to surrender." The cellphone video has not yet been released.
FBI special agent Greg Bretzig said, "Mr. Finicum chose to break the law, Mr. Finicum chose to put other people's lives in danger, and as the investigation shows, he chose to provoke a confrontation with law enforcement."
